The Collective Counseling

About Us

Our Collective Approach

Our philosophy at The Collective stems from the importance of creating relationships with clients and then utilizing some of the most effective psychotherapy and holistic models available to clients today. It’s our believe that we cannot help you achieve mental wellness without looking at you in your totality.  We prescribe some functional medication practices and have referral and lab test options for those interested in incorporating a whole-being approach to psychosomatic healing.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy that is based on the principle that the way we view a situation has less to do with the situation and more to do with our reaction to the situation itself. A key factor in CBT is helping clients change their unhealthy behavior by identifying their unhealthy beliefs from conclusions they have made from past experiences.

Brainspotting (BSP) works well in conjunction with CBT because it allows clients to unlock the thoughts, memories, and traumatic experiences that the brain has dutifully tucked away that can’t be reached in traditional talk therapy. BSP guides us to the root causes of our attachment styles and survival behavior. This allows us to create new belief systems that better align with our current lives, freeing us from the conclusions we deemed were important for our survival that were bonded in trauma.
